A young African Buffalo is called a Calf, and this poster puts its distinct features front and center: rounder face, softer horn buds still forming, and the darker, woollier coat that fades as it matures into the adult's grey hide and heavy boss.

Made to look
good on paper.
The same hand-drawn look across the whole collection — verified against the real species, animal by animal.
“For the best result, print at 100% or “actual size” on matte white paper or cardstock.”
The final files are prepared in high resolution with clean spacing and carefully balanced placement. We check how the artwork appears at the intended size, not only when enlarged on a screen.
Fine lines need to remain visible, pale watercolor areas must not disappear, and the subject should have enough space to be cut out comfortably.
Often
asked.
A calf is born without any horn growth and only develops small horn buds after its first few months. It takes several years of steady growth before the horns curve and thicken like an adult's.
A calf weighs around 40 kg at birth, a small fraction of an adult cow's 500 to 600 kg frame. It gains weight quickly on rich milk during its first months.
Calves are born with a reddish-brown coat that is noticeably lighter and softer than the dark grey-black hide of adults. The coat darkens gradually as the calf matures over its first year.
